Our mission is to empower individuals and communities with education, resources and support for sustainable growing practices.
Our vision is to foster a community that grows and distributes food locally, creatively and collectively.
By transforming spaces into productive gardens and fostering local food networks, we inspire sustainability, improve food security, and cultivate the connection between people and the environment.

After a successful 25-year career as a food professional, garden guru
Michelle Marshall pours her energies into producing organic goodness -
and teaching others to do the same. Her impressive home garden has been a
featured tour stop of the Newmarket Garden Club. She co-founded Access
Harvest in 2024 and serves as Chief Operations Officer.

For over 30 years, Executive Director Ashley Marshall has taught & led
educational initiatives in public and private institutions for education, sport
and religious organizations. A co-founder of Access Harvest, he is an active
soccer referee, avid Manchester United fan and an aspiring Jedi.
Board Chair
Alexis is a former Corporate Communications & Change Management professional with experience in financial services, K-12 and logistics. In semi-retirement, she pursues knitting (avidly), working out (reluctantly) and learning the keyboard (talentlessly). She feels privileged to volunteer with Access Harvest, as it enables her to work alongside talented individuals and support a growing, grassroots community organization.
Chief Financial Officer
As a chartered public accountant, Karen has worked in the public and private sectors in Ontario for over 20 years. Serving as the CFO of Access Harvest, she is an avid foodie who is passionate about food quality, sustaintability and resource stewardship.
Director At-Large
O’Neil is a seasoned Financial Risk Manager (FRM) with nearly 30 years of experience at leading asset management firms. He serves on the Board of Directors to support the organization’s mission of improving local food security and self-sufficiency. Outside of work, O’Neil is an active father who enjoys golf, cycling, fitness, and astronomy.
Director At-Large
Clare is a retired outdoor/environmental professor, still nourishing his spirit with wilderness canoe trips.
He knows well and cares deeply that our shared future depends on positive interaction with natural ecosystems.
He is a champion of all sustainable lifestyle action and keen on enabling the movement of “grow locally, share locally”.
Access Harvest is indebted to Satura, the successful Seneca Polytechnic Creative Design team (under the direction of Professor Martin Shewchuk) who designed our logo & branding:
We would love for you to check out and support their work.
